From 2014 To A Career Built On Entertainment
Sharan Kuttappa has spent more than a decade building a career around magic, mentalism and theatre. Since beginning his professional journey in 2014, he has performed at more than 2,000 shows and projects, working with audiences across different formats and environments.
But for Sharan, magic is not simply about tricks.
“I feel people want magic, but people don’t want magicians,” he says. After years of performing, he believes that the emotions people experience, whether it is joy, surprise or amazement, are the real magic. That philosophy has become central to the way he approaches his shows.
His approach is simple: keep it simple, and keep it unbelievable.
Where Theatre Meets Magic And Mentalism
Theatre has played a major role in shaping Sharan as a performer. His love for the art form comes from childhood, when theatre was already a significant part of his life.
As a child, Sharan often felt different from those around him. He is dyslexic and took more time with his studies, but what could have been viewed as a limitation ultimately became part of his individuality.
“I am an extrovert but I keep to myself a lot,” he explains. That combination of observation, curiosity and time spent understanding people helped shape the performer he would eventually become.
He spent years learning and practising magic and mentalism before combining those skills with his theatrical background.
“Combined it with theatre and boom! This is what I do now. This is my magic, true to me.”
An Engineer Who Loves Understanding How Things Work
Sharan’s professional background extends far beyond entertainment. He holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering, a field he chose because he was naturally drawn to practical subjects.
He has always enjoyed understanding how things move, how things work, fixing things and even making things himself.
That practical mindset also continues through his work outside the stage.
Sharan runs Deva Industries, a manufacturing business focused on precision press tool components. His responsibilities include ensuring supplies reach customers on time, developing new customers and maintaining strong relationships with existing ones.
For him, having a factory-based professional life alongside his artistic career creates an unusual but rewarding balance.
“Having a factory job, along with my artistic side is great.”
He continues to maintain control over his own time, allowing him to pursue both sides of his career. Every week, he puts effort into learning and developing his skills in magic and mentalism while also keeping up with the requirements of the manufacturing business.
The Mind As The Most Powerful Tool
Mentalism has become an important part of Sharan’s performance identity. His philosophy is rooted in the belief that the human mind can create experiences that feel impossible.
“The real magic is what we see. What we think. And what we believe.”
For Sharan, the mind is the most powerful tool, and his role as a performer is to create a glimpse of what appears unreal.
“I am just a puppet to show you a glimpse of the unreal. I’ll turn what you think can’t happen and actually make it happen.”
Rather than simply presenting tricks, his performances are designed around interaction, emotion and audience participation.
From Corporate Events To Living Rooms
Sharan performs for all types of events and is currently working extensively with companies and corporate audiences. His experience includes working with established organisations such as Google, IBM, Infosys, Redington, Siemens, Kajaria, Qualcomm and Timevalle.
His performances, however, are not limited to large corporate events.
Even a small gathering at home can become a stage for magic and mentalism. Sharan aims to bring the same sense of joy and amazement directly to audiences, regardless of the size of the event.
For children, he has developed a special high-energy act filled with magic, interaction and audience participation. The performance is designed to keep children engaged throughout, with opportunities for them to interact, react and become part of the experience.
More Than 2,000 Plus Shows And A Growing Digital Presence
Over the course of his career, Sharan has performed at more than 2,000 plus shows and projects, giving him experience with different audiences, venues and event formats.
His digital presence is growing alongside his live career. His Instagram audience has crossed 4,000 plus followers, while his YouTube channel has surpassed 800 plus subscribers.
These platforms offer another way for audiences to discover his performances and follow his journey as a magician and mentalist.
The Magic He Wants For Himself
While Sharan spends much of his professional life creating moments of wonder for other people, his personal definition of magic is much simpler.
“The magic I want is to be healthy, have a good personal and professional life, and experience what the world has to offer.”
For him, success is not limited to shows, followers or professional achievements. It is about maintaining a balance between his artistic work, his business, his family and his own experiences.
A Career That Is True To Him
From a child drawn towards theatre to an engineer, manufacturer, magician and mentalist, Sharan Kuttappa’s journey has developed across seemingly different worlds.
Magic and mentalism gave him a creative language. Theatre gave him a way to connect with audiences. Engineering and manufacturing gave him a practical professional foundation.
Together, those experiences have created the performer he is today.
As 2026 continues, Sharan remains focused on learning, performing and creating experiences that challenge what audiences believe is possible.
And his message to those watching is simple:
“You are magic. It’s you and only you that can make your surroundings seem magical.”
