The National Testing Agency (NTA) has assured the Supreme Court that stronger security measures will be implemented in future NEET-UG examinations following the controversy over the alleged paper leak in the 2024 medical entrance test. In an affidavit submitted before the court, the agency detailed a comprehensive plan aimed at restoring transparency and trust in the examination system.
The NEET-UG examination is one of the largest entrance tests conducted in India, with millions of students appearing each year for admission to medical colleges. However, allegations of a paper leak before the 2024 examination sparked nationwide outrage and led to legal challenges questioning the fairness of the process.
Students and parents expressed concerns that the alleged leak may have given unfair advantages to certain candidates. Several petitions were filed in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the examination and a fresh test. The issue soon became a national debate over examination integrity and student welfare.
