Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam are basking in the success of their recently released film OMG. The film is a sequel to OMG: Oh My God! which was released in 2012 and starred Akshay Kumar in the lead. Now, the sequel is successfully attracting the audience to the theaters, and needless to say, the netizens are mighty impressed by the distinct storyline and the performances.
Kumar plays the character of Lord Shiva’s messenger, whereas Pankaj Tripathi plays the role of Shiva’s devotee. Pankaj Tripathi’s son’s character is played by Aarush Varma. Though Akshay and Pankaj are beaming with joy at the films’ success, Aarush has expressed his disappointment for the same. There’s no hiding in the fact that OMG 2 received an A certification from the film, though many think that the film should’ve received a Universal certification.
Aarush Varma expresses disappointment over OMG 2 film certification
Aarush, who made his acting debut in OMG 2 spoke with India Today and revealed that he couldn’t watch the film and was annoyed over the same. Speaking with the portal, he said, “It was kind of annoying because this is my first film, and my family, friends, and everyone have been showing constant excitement, they couldn’t wait to watch the film. Also, if anyone watches the film, they will know that the whole point of the film is to teach everyone that sex education and such topics are important to be taught to kids at a young age. So that their minds can develop around it.”
Shedding his thoughts on the film’s certification, he added, “And if they’re (CBFC) making that same movie 18 +, it kind of defeats the point of making such a film. Plus, one of my biggest desires and ambitions was to see myself on the big screen, which I couldn’t and that kind of pissed me off. I couldn’t watch it because they’ve turned it into an A-rated film. It just felt annoying.”
A few days ago, Aarush had also put forth a petition to remove the A certification from the film and grant it a Universal certification. The sole reason of this was the topic of the film, which revolves around sex education and educating the young generation about the same.
The Amit Rai-directed film OMG 2 was released in theaters on 11 August and witnessed a clash with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. Despite the clash, both films are performing exceptionally well at the box office and are ruling the hearts of netizens. The audience is loving the unique story brought up in OMG 2 and is cherishing the sequel of Sunny Deol’s Gadar.
