Pooja Entertainment is all set to bring audiences a heroic rescue thriller with their next, Mission Raniganj. With Akshay Kumar in the lead, the film is set to hit the theater screens on October 6, 2023. The story is inspired by the heroic act of Late Shri Jaswant Singh Gill during a real life incident at Raniganj Coalfield. And the makers strated the marketing of the film by releasing its motion poster.

The heroic Jaswant Singh Gill led Bharat’s coal mine rescue mission. He played a significant role in rescuing all the surviving miners trapped inside a flooded coal mine in Raniganj in November 1989. It was a successful rescue mission in Bharat against all odds. Akshay portrays the heroic character of Late Jaswant Singh Gill.

The motion poster offers a peek into the gripping rescue operation that unfolded when miners found themselves trapped beneath the 350 feet deep coal mine. Akshay as Gill, emerges as the central figure, saving the miners in a daring rescue operation. The actor sports a turban for his character and impresses with his first look. The makers also revealed that the film’s teaser will be unveiled on September 7, 2023.

Mission Raniganj is an ode to the resilience, determination, and valor of the human spirit and minds. The film features Parineeti Chopra opposite Akshay. It also boasts an ensemble cast including Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt and Omkar Das Manikpuri.

Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Ajay Kapoor are the producers of Mission Raniganj. The film marks director Tinu Suresh Desai’s next thriller after Rustom. It brings forward the coal mine accident that shook the nation and the world and the relentless efforts of the rescue team led by Jaswant Singh Gill. The film will release in theaters on October 6 2023.
