New Delhi — In an unprecedented show of military preparedness and offensive restraint, India has decisively thwarted a large-scale missile threat from Pakistan while simultaneously launching a retaliatory mission that disabled Pakistan’s critical air defence grid.
The attempted missile attack targeted 15 Indian urban centres — from Delhi and Mumbai to Srinagar and Jaipur — and was aimed at testing India’s defensive capabilities under pressure. Indian air command detected the launches early through space-based infrared sensors and airborne early warning systems (AEWS), activating a rapid intercept protocol.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) confirmed that India’s “Sky Sentinel” system — a fusion of ground-based radars, anti-ballistic systems, and satellite intelligence — successfully intercepted all incoming projectiles. “Not a single missile hit its target. This is a landmark moment in Indian missile defence,” said a senior DRDO official.
In retaliation, India initiated a focused aerial campaign called Operation Shakti Vortex. Indian Rafales and Mirage 2000s conducted low-altitude penetrations into Pakistani airspace, targeting missile command centres and air-defence assets. The operations were conducted with real-time satellite support, ensuring minimal collateral damage and maximum impact.
Destroyed targets included a radar complex near Sialkot, a communications hub in Multan, and a cluster of SAM launchers deployed outside Quetta. Indian forces reported “total mission success” with no loss of aircraft.
Pakistan’s government has condemned the Indian strikes, claiming they resulted in civilian deaths — a claim India has firmly denied. International satellite imagery released by neutral observers appears to corroborate India’s claim that all targets were military.
The Indian Prime Minister called it a “measured, proportionate, and necessary response” to defend India’s sovereignty and deter future aggression. He also reiterated India’s commitment to peace, but warned, “Peace cannot exist without security.”
While the world watches anxiously, India’s military and technological edge in this encounter may shift strategic calculations across the region for years to come.
