Kareena Kapoor says “I don’t need to be a size zero” again |Tashan

Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to make her fans laugh and have a gala as Jasmine in this week’s release, Crew. With just a couple of days left to its release, the cast of the Rajesh Krishnan directorial are all out promoting it via interviews and public appearances. During one such interview, the actress was asked about being size zero for Tashan and whether she would consider doing it again. For those who don’t remember, in 2008 Kareena was the talk of the town after losing a significant amount of weight and achieving a size-zero figure for the Akshay Kumar-Saif Ali Khan co-starrer. 

During a recent chat with Ranveer Allahabadia on his podcast, the host quizzed Kareena about any negative aspects of her weight loss journey and if she would do it again for a role.

During their conversation, Ranveer asked Kareena if there ever was a ‘downside’ to losing so much weight ‘that didn’t come out at the time’. Revealing that she lost the weight in the most positive way possible, she replied, “I am ambitious but never to the point that I would harm myself or my mental frame of mind… For size zero also, I took the time, almost a year and a half to get into that look and it was like a challenge. ‘Ek baar karna hai life mein (have to do this once in my life)’ for an action film because I have never done an action film after that also.”

On being asked if she would do it again, Kareena replied, “Now, we are living in a generation where everything is accepted and I wouldn’t like to say that such certain types of body would be accepted for an action film. I think, today everyone and anyone can do what they want to. So, I am ready for an action movie now also. I don’t need to be a size zero.”
