Pop icon Rihanna recently grabbed headlines with her sensational performance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities. Many prominent celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit, Kiara Advani, were there to grace the event. While several glimpses from the event are doing rounds, what had our attention was Rihanna’s humble gesture towards the paparazzi and security personnel. She also paid homage to Indian culture and thanked the Ambani family for inviting her. To note, this was her first performance after a 7-year break.

The pop singer performed some of her hit tracks at the Ambani bash, including songs such as ‘Pour it Up’, ‘Wild Things’, and ‘Diamonds’, among others at the bash. Post her performance she was papped at the airport. In the viral clip, Rihanna was seen leaving Jamnagar airport when she hugged women police officer and expressed gratitude towards them. Not just this, she also gathered cops and took a photo with them before heading back home.
Rihanna also interacted with paparazzi and posed for pictures with them. She has a small interaction with them and said, “I love India. The show was the best. I wanna come back.” At the airport, Rihanna carried a painting with “Thank You” written on it, a gift from the Ambanis. She also shared that this was her first live show in eight years.

In some viral clips doing rounds on the internet, Rihanna graced the stage barefoot. The decision by Rihanna to perform barefoot was a sincere tribute to the values and traditions of India. She looked stunning in a flowing fluorescent green bodycon ensemble accentuated with a shimmering gown.
Rihanna began her show by saying, “Good evening everyone. It is my honour to be here tonight. I have never been to India. And thanks to the Ambani family, I am here tonight. Anant and Radiki (Radhika), thank you for having me here. God bless your union. I wish you all the best. Congratulations. How many of you believe in love?” A few moments later, Ambani family, including Isha Ambani, Mukesh Ambani and others joined Rihanna on stage and danced with her, much to the delight of the present audience.
Anant-Radhika pre-wedding festivities theme and itenerary
The pre-wedding festivities is all set to take place from 1st to 3rd March. Day 1 was called An Evening in Everland, with the dress code listed as “elegant cocktail”. Now, day 2 will host A Walk on the Wildside with “jungle fever” the suggested dress code. The final day will also comprise two events. The first one, Tusker Trails, suggests “casual chic” dressing, as guests are expected to further explore the green ambience of Jamnagar. The final party, Hastakshar, calls for an elegant evening with heritage Indian wear.
