Sunny Deol is all set to reprise his role as Tara Singh in Gadar 2. The film is the sequel of 2001 cult blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. As the film inches close to release date, the actor is busy promoting. Recently, during an interview, he was asked about media coverage on druge abuse in Bollywood. While sharing his thought, the actor expressed that Bollywood is not rotten.
Sunny Deol on drug abuse in Bollywood
The Gadar 2 actor was asked his thoughts on coverage of Bollywood parties and if he thinks the industry is rotten. To which the actor answered, “Sada hua Bollywood nahi hai, sade hue insaan hai. Aur vo kis field me nahi hai, ye bataiye. Businessman ho, sportsman ho, jaha latt lagi hui hu, vo charo taraf hai. Hum glamour vale hai to unhe humare pe ungli utake maza ata hai (Bollywood is not rotten, it’s the people in it. And this happens in every field. People just point fingers at us because we are from the glamour industry).”
The actor had earlier expressed that he chooses to stay away from all this. He had told in a statement, “I’ve abstained from alcohol, drugs and parties all my life. I religiously workout and follow a certain discipline.”
About Gadar 2
The actor will be seen in Gadar 2 with Ameesha Patel. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film also stars Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur in prominent roles. The trailer of the film was unveiled on 26 July and has been receiving rave response. In the sequel, we will witness of Tara Singh defies all odds and crosses border to Pakistan to save his son Jeete. The film is slated to release on 11 August 2023. Interestingly, it will be locking horns with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 at the box office.
