Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, known for his thought-provoking and politically charged films, has never shied away from expressing his opinions on social media. Time and again, the filmmaker has grabbed attention for his controversial remarks against the Bollywood film industry. This time was no different. In a recent interview, The Kashmir Files director accused Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar of damaging India’s cultural fabric in a very dangerous way.

The filmmaker was recently promoting his docu-series The Kashmir Files Unreported. It consists of the research, archival footage, and interviews Agnihotri did for his 2022 movie. In an interview, while promoting the series, he took a dig at Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar.
“After the advent of Amitabh Bachchan as a superstar – not the one from Deewar but one from Shehanshah – the cinema after that never told real stories. Especially Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan’s cinema, which has actually damaged the cultural fabric of India in a very disastrous way. So, I felt it was important to tell real, honest stories,” Vivek said in the interview.

On the work front, Agnihotri is busy with his new film ‘The Vaccine War’. Starring Nana Patekar, the movie will hit the big screens on 28th September. Aside from Patekar, the movie will also feature Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, and Anupam Kher. He has also announced The Delhi Files. Talking about his critically acclaimed film The Kashmir Files, it went on to become one of the highest grosser of 2022. It revolves around the exodus and killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s. The film starred Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, etc. in key roles.
