Gadar music composer Uttam Singh slams the makers of Gadar 2
Speaking of which, Gadar 2 consists of big action sequences and powerful dialogues. Along with this, it also contains melodious songs and recreation of iconic songs. ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ and ‘Mai Nikla Gaddi Leke’ took the audiences on a nostalgic tour. The two songs are still a hit from Gadar – Ek Prem Katha. Gadar 2 contains the recreation of both songs.
Now, Uttam Singh, the music composer of these two songs has alleged that the songs are used without his permission.
Speaking with Amar Ujala, Singh expressed his disappointment over the matter. He said, “They didn’t call me for Gadar 2 and I don’t have the habit of calling and asking for work. They have used two of my songs in the film and I have also heard that they have used the background music that I composed. They should at least have the etiquette to ask me once and talk to me before using my songs in the film.”
The film comprises old and new songs. The music composer for the second part is Mithoon. The recreation of Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava has been curated in the voices of Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. On the other hand, Mai Nikla Gaddi Leke has been sung by Udit Narayan and Aditya Narayan. Apart from these two melodies, the film also has songs including Khairiyat and Dil Jhoom.
Gadar 2 is directed by Anil Sharma and was released on 11 August. Interestingly, Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 was also released on 11 August. The box office witnessed a clash between the two, despite which, both films have performed exceedingly well.
