Well, on Tuesday, Dharma Productions, owned by Karan Johar, shared a picture on Instagram that had a chair with ‘director’ written on it. It also has a tagline that says ‘Karan Johar Another era begins’. This post has created a stir on social media and fans started wondering if it is related to Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer. Though the announcement will be given tomorrow, on Wednesday, we are already excited to know what they have in the store for us.
While sharing the picture on social media, they announced for a grand celebration that piqued everyone’s interest. They backed it with, “The chair is about to be filled 7 years later. The fan commented, “I hope it’s takht. can’t wait for that its been soooooo long since you announced that movie.” For the unversed, a few years back, KJo announced a Magnum Opus Takht along with an ensemble cast. However, it was reported that it got shelved due to reasons best known to them.
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani reunites Ranveer and Alia after Gully Boy. The two garnered immense appreciation for their chemistry and now fans hope the same magic in this one. Karan comes back as a director after directing Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
The movie also boasts ensemble cast including Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. The movie is slated to release on July 28, 2023.
