After ruling the acting world for 23 years, Kareena Kapoor is stepping in production with The Buckingham Murders. The film stars her in the lead as well as it marks her foray in production in association with Ektaa R Kapoor. And the actress has already garnered one achievement for the film under the belt. It will be screened at the BFI London Film Festival 2023.

On August 31, the BFI London Film Festival 2023 released its programme and it includes The Buckingham Murders as well. The film will be screened on October 14 and 15 during the festival. In its one line description, the website describes the film by ‘Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor is outstanding as a troubled cop whose latest case brings back painful memories in this gritty thriller.’

The website gives a synopsis of the film as well. It reads, ‘Fresh wounds are reopened when Jasmeet Bhamra, a cop and single mother who recently lost her child in a shooting spree, transfers to High Wycombe and is assigned the case of a missing child. Director Hansal Mehta explores themes of trauma, closure and the immigrant experience with his signature sensitivity in this atmospheric thriller, featuring a career-best performance by Kapoor.’

The website defines Kareena’s act as ‘career-best performance’. Even the actress has been quite excited about the film directed by Hansal Mehta. She has shared several glimpses from during the shoot in London. She had earlier said in an interview that her role in inspired by Kate Winslet in Mare Of Easttown.

Kareena Kapoor upcoming films

Kareena has some exciting projects in her lineup currently. Before The Buckingham Murders, Kareena will make her OTT debut. She stars in the film Jaane Jaan alongside Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. Jaane Jaan is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and has a release date of September 21, 2023.
